A lot has changed since I last provided a status on the site! Currently working on projects behind the scenes, so Artistree will either be on pause for commissions or just solely advertising the profile art. Cara will have my social and posts for such, then there's new additions! The Portfolio tab finally has some content and notes to go with each page, so excited to add even more as the pen draws near.
There's been a recent spark of preparedness for the topic of horticulture, so with this there will likely be some attention towards the Botany page in the coming days/weeks. It's clear at this time a separate site will represent the fuller inclusion and services offered under this specialty, but as of now the concept and execution of such is in a state of development.

The moment I first new I was a creative was probably about 2nd grade, as one of my first was a drawing of a blocky sk8er boi riding through the street of a town and I hope to one day be able to find it. The pivotal point was more so when I experimented with charcoal making a butterfly that gave me such a sense of pride, but in the 4th grade I began to pursue music for quite some time after as well.
Overall, I was not in the most realistic headspace when trying my best to turn art into a career; it was difficult for me to realize the soul crushing toll of connecting success to monetization, so lately I've rested my pen in solidarity to my childhood self. My hope now is to have fun, but here and there I'll always try to make some sales when time is given.
Artistically, my passion is to send a message to viewers and readers alike, so I hope that one day something special by my pen can help even one person through a rough experience; what art did for me~!

My introduction to plants was in regards to a monstera purchased by my mother at a local Safeway. Although one stem and its leaf were yellow at the time, it signified its declining health and promoted in myself the drive to see to its immediate care.
The genus of monstera is a tropical plant and loves water, so as the acquired variant was in critical condition my research astounded the concept of propogation; such is the practice of cloning new plants from the parent. Roughly 7 cuttings were cultivated from the host plant and the results were simply astounding.

To say the least, a strong sense of joyful accomplishment resonated throughout my psyche and I asked myself, "Did I truly just propogate multiple healthy monstera from a grocery store?" Suddenly, a spark of passion lit the fire which in itself, propogated my eagerness to do this with many other plants in these same conditions; that I may rescue more and multiply many just like it!
I plan to create a service in which I can help consult, treat, and return struggling plants in the realm of horticulture to also educate other plant enthusiasts of the importance of environmental and intensive care requirements. Many of us have purchased plants and feel terribly awful at the sight of their early demise, but I would aim to be the bridge between flora and fauna.

The art produced aligns with the specialties of character design and storytelling. Examples of projects I work on include comics, storyboards, and even profile art for avatars. I'll be sure to add more content as I develop more projects. Next in my sights incudes an upcoming comic series and storyboards I plan to practice some animation principles with. <3

My first form of art I used to tell stories was actually through comics! To count my zines from early grade school is debatable, but it really showed my magnetism and excitement for creating stories. Comics come with a plethora of skills, so I've had to explore writing, storyboarding, and going outside to really help with the final process of making a comic.

About five years ago, storyboarding was an especially intimidating endeavor. My first one was just off of a workbook, but my first digital board is to this day a surreal one archived due to halted updates on story and characters. I'll be sure to post these here soon and let the thumbnail to the left be a sneak peek of sorts~!
